Tisovský castle was built probably in the second half of the 13th century on the site of an older castle - Hradová (887 m). In 1334 the owner of the castle and town Tisovec kaločský Ladislav archbishop, Thomas of Sečoviec later and i. In the mid-15th century, the castle army seized John Sparks, which gained him the king Matthias Corvinus. In the second half of the 16th century, the castle and the town came under Turkish sovereignty in a while. After driving the Turks from Gemerskej area (in 1593) Tisovecký castle lost strategic importance and the new owners are no longer worry about its maintenance.
